Introduction
The Ashtottara Shatanamavali (108 names) of Lord Ganesha comes from the Ganesha Purana and the Mudgala Purana. Each name reveals a different aspect of Ganesha’s infinite nature — from his elephant head and large belly to his cosmic role as the master of wisdom and remover of obstacles.
Traditionally, these 108 names are chanted while offering durva grass, red flowers, or modaks — one offering per name. Chanting all 108 names is considered equivalent to performing a complete archana (flower worship) of the highest order.
